Felix becomes second category five in 2007

    September 3, 2007

Hurricane Felix was the second to be considered under the Category 5 Hurricane to form in the Atlantic Basin in 2007. The storm was formed as a tropical wave in the Central Atlantic, and then it strengthened to a tropical storm. Then, in just a couples of days, it turned as a hurricane. It made landfall in the south of the border between Nicaragua and Honduras, in the region known as the Mosquito Coast as a Category 5 hurricane with a sustained winds of 160 miles per hour. Felix would cross over the paradise island chain of the Netherlands Antilles as it was moving towards north direction with a strong winds and torrential rains falling on Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao. Hurricane Felix battered central America. At least four people lost their lives and most of the people in that region were left homeless. The residents were raising fears of a catastrophe in a region with few resources to prepare and be ready for hurricane Felix’ arrival or to cope with its consequences. Through help coming from the government, the citizens of America still survived. Helping one another is really important.
