    Hurricane Paloma

    November 9, 2008

Hurricane Paloma was the seventeenth tropical cyclone that hit the United States of America. It was the fifth major hurricane of the 2008 Atlantic hurricane season. Paloma developed out of a strong tropical disturbance. The weather disturbance had slowly developed into a tropical depression and then it strengthened into a tropical storm. After a couple of days, it became a hurricane. This Hurricane Paloma was classified under the Category 2 hurricane and in just a few days, it intensified under Category 3. As Hurricane Paloma continued to gain strength, it reached the intensity of Category 4 hurricane. Paloma was the second most powerful and destructive November hurricane on record in the Atlantic Basin. The Us State Department issued a travel alert to convince American citizens to give attention in the possible effects of hurricane Paloma. They should not take the risks of travelling to places that may be affected by Hurricane Paloma like in the Cayman Islands, Jamaica, and Cuba. People must always be aware in everything that is happening in their surroundings.
